The Hindu is a national newspaper of India, which seems to exhibit a particular bias towards communist China in its coverage of East Turkestan. What possible personal, financial or political influences exert themselves upon the editorial staff of this publication, that result in a casual dismissal of the facts, in favor of promoting a view that may well have been authored by Communist China’s Ministry of Deception? Could it be India’s fraught and tragic history of prejudice, discrimination and unrest between Hindu and Muslim communities that colors the paper’s editorial output?
This Blog has previously exposed the pro-China stance of The Hindu which appears to specialize in an unhealthly acceptance of Chinese propaganda. Consider its uncritical reportage of a letter (released by China’s official mouthpiece Xinhua) supposedly from relatives of Rabiya Kadeer, presenting to its readership, what many recognized as an obvious forgery, as an object-of fact

The paper was also quick to seize upon claims made by communist China that so-called al Quaeda were fanning the flames of unrest inside East Turkestan and had supposedly threatened Chinese citizens in North Africa. The Hindu willingly repeated that transparent disinformation

The communist regime in Beijing must be extremely pleased to have the unquestioning loyalty of such a prestigious Indian newspaper which today (August 16) has been actively reporting more propaganda, this time suggesting Turkey has revised its condemnatory stance on the suppression of Uyghurs in East Turkestan.
“Turkey, the lone voice in the international community that strongly criticised China for its handling of July’s ethnic unrest in Xinjiang, now appears to have mended its fences with China. Only a few weeks ago, Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan described the events as “a kind of genocide”. Now, it appears to have considerably changed its tone…” (emphasis added)
Upon what factual basis does The Hindu make this assertion, well the remarks, not of Turkey’s Prime Minister, nor the Turkish Government, but comments attributed to Turkey’s Ambassador to China, as reported by Xinhua! It’s headline trumpets ‘Turkey Supports China on Xinjiang’ http://beta.thehindu.com/news/international/article4054.ece Yet the article features not a single word issued by Turkey’s Ambassador to that effect, a point-of-fact which does not seem to bother its Editors, more concerned it would appear in satisfying the anti-Islamist appetites of its readership and promoting pro-China views. Its overly sympathetic reliance upon communist China’s Xinhua news-agency as a source of unbiased information renders any coverage it presents on East Turkestan as being highly questionable and does no credit to independent and professional journalism.
