China Rejects Dalai Lama’s Offer-Not News

We would like to express our appreciation to the communist Chinese authorities for ensuring that, by their psychotic insistence on sovereignty, discussions with personal envoys of the Dalai Lama once again failed. Anyone remotely supportive of Tibet’s national independence should raise a celebratory toast, as the proposals on offer by the exiled Tibetan Administration would surrender Tibet’s national identity and  right to self-determination.

According to China’s propaganda mouthpiece, Xinhua, Chinese representatives informed Lodi Gyari and Kelsang Gyaltsen (envoys of the Dalai Lama) that no compromise was possible regarding communist China’s rule over Tibet. Du Qinglin, head of China’s ministry for religious and so-called ethnic groups, said that China would never relinquish its claim of sovereignty over Tibet.

“There is no space at all for any discussion of sovereignty and territorial issues, and not the slightest room for any concessions,” Du reportedly informed the Tibetan envoys, according to Xinhua. Du also pressured the Tibetans by again demanding an end to what Beijing sees as anti-China activities of the Tibetan leader, repeating the theart first issued in October 2009 that should the Dalai Lama continue such activities, “there can be no progress in any contacts or discussions” .

The Tibetan envoys have arrived back in India according to the exiled Tibetan Government, who have not yet issued a response to the Chinese official statements.
