Saturday October 23. During very changeable weather conditions Jigme Norbu and Tai Nguyen put in another hard day’s walking that set out from Melbourne to reach London, Ontario that evening. Along the way they received a great deal of public support from passing motorists honking their encouragement, some stopping to express their appreciation and solidarity with the walk for Tibet’s independence, human rights and peace. Later in the evening Jigme and Tai were kindly treated to dinner by a Native American family, and offered a gift of sweet grass, similar tradition to the Tibetan custom of offering incense. Jigme presented them with Tibetan Khata (traditional scarfs of blessing and good fortune).
Grateful thanks to Jigme Norbu & Kunchok Gonpo
