Exiled Tibetan ‘Institution’ Hiding Behind Samdhong’s Excuses

The newly named Exiled Tibetan ‘Institution’ (formerly Exiled Government of Tibet) has a clear political and moral obligation to issue a formal statement, explaining in detail, its decision to amend the Tibetan Charter, and the troubling re-naming of its title, which have some dangerously negative consequences in terms of Tibets position within international law and the cause itself. Instead, amid increasing frustration and concern among Tibetans, it has put forward former Prime Minister, Samdhong Rinpoche, to offer a set of excuses in defence of the changes.  It is not good enough, a formal response is needed from Kalon Lobsang Sangay.
