Ignoring The Big Brother Nightmare In Tibet And East Turkistan Britain’s Government Kowtows To China’s Mass Surveillance Provider

This interrogation within a Chinese police station shockingly reveals the degree and extent of internet and social-media scrutiny operated by China’s government. This man was arrested within a short time of posting humorous comments about the police. His cell phone and local network are designed and run as an extension of the security services inside China, the tech corporations that facilitate such mass surveillance include Huawei.

Just 24 hours after the British government chose China’s state surveillance state and its default tech snooper, Huawei, a thirty percent role in providing 5G coverage the heat on Capitol Hill is increasing. Why, it’s being asked, would Britain ignore the justified security concerns and allow a company that services the Chinese regime to construct, install and run such a critical infrastructure?

The answer of course is all about trade deals with China and the allure of profits, yet there will be serious consequences in appeasing a totalitarian authority. One that relies upon Huawei to operate and expand its suffocating surveillance apparatus which is recording, monitoring and assessing virtually every aspect of public life in occupied Tibet and East Turkistan.

China Targets Tibet’s New Year Celebrations With Security Lockdown

China Targets Tibet's New Year Celebrations With Security Lockdown

As Tibetans in occupied Tibet prepare to celebrate, as best as they can under the suffocating rule of China’s regime, Losar (Tibetan New Year) in a secure multi-story building in downtown Lhasa other plans are being made.

The brutal enforcers of Xi Jinping and the communist party of China attended yesterday an online conference to receive the latest dictates from party secretary Wu Yingjie. Chinese officials and Tibetan political stooges dutifully took copious notes as it was made clear that additional security measures were to be enforced for the duration of the festival.

For Tibetans this means tighter restrictions on travel, more Chinese paramilitary and checkpoints on the streets and additional surveillance of online activity and monitoring of phone calls.

Tibet’s Monks Spend More Time Studying The Dictates Of Xi Jinping Than Practicing Buddhism

Tibet's Monks Spend More Time Studying The Dictates Of Xi Jinping Than Practicing Buddhism

Image: @tibettruth

If you were to play a word association game with Tibet as it’s subject one of the most popular first responses would be, Buddhism. Not surprising right? What a lot of folks may not realize however is that Tibet’s Buddhist traditions have been criminalized by the Chinese regime. Monasteries (or the scattered remains of the hundreds which once existed) now placed under the asphyxiating supervision of China’s communist authorities. Monks are forced to learn the ‘enlightened’ political doctrine of Xi Jinping, daily indoctrination sessions have relegated Buddhist practice. There is no mention of the Dalai Lama, the consequences are far too terrifying, his image once reverently displayed, replaced by photographs showing a smiling Chinese dictator.

China Stealing Tibet’s Yaks And Sells Products Back To Tibetans For Big Profits

China Stealing Tibet's Yaks And Sells Products Back To Tibetans For Big Profits

A great quiz question for you, what is the national animal of Tibet? Too easy right? Well the Yak, once critical to the nomadic traditions and lives of the majority Tibetan population, no longer enjoys the open grasslands, freely moving from Winter and Summer pasture. Like Tibet’s herders it too has been incarcerated.

Readers and subscribers of our Blog will know that we’ve reported on how Tibetan nomads are being forced from their lands and homes by the Chinese regime into concentration settlements. What happens to the many herds of Yaks left behind  you may wonder?

They are confiscated and sold off at knockdown cost to Chinese-owned companies, who fence the Yaks, mass breed them for slaughter. Apart from meat and leather, textile and medicinal products are processed. These are then marketed and distributed across occupied Tibet and sold to Tibetans at a considerable profit.

Not content with destroying the lifestyle of Tibet’s nomads the Chinese regime and equally corrupt  companies are profiting from the theft and sale of Yaks and related products. As always it is the Tibetan people who are exploited. With those detained in newly built ‘socialist paradise villages’ having to buy Yak meat, sourced from herds which once had been theirs for generations!

Tibet’s Phone Users Under 24/7 Surveillance

Tibet's Phone Users Under 24/7 Surveillance

Image: @tibettruth/chogo

Couple of days back the Chinese regime trumpeted that phone usage in Tibet had increased to nearly 4 million.

Of course that would be worthy of celebration if such claimed increase came with attendant progress in human rights, religious freedom and respect for Tibet’s cultural traditions.

However far from indicating such improvements (or ideas of economic progress and social modernity, which is what China’s authorities seek to plant in your mind) for Tibetans, the expansion of cell phone networks and personal use is yet another component of the suffocating control over Tibet.

All networks are authorized and monitored by the regime, as is internet and phone use, while the roll-out of 5G across Tibet enables mass surveillance technology. No phone call inside occupied Tibet is safe!

Tibetan Town Placed Under Paramilitary Occupation For Unauthorized Internet Use

In a land already suffocating under the terrorism imposed by the Chinese regime Tibetans continue to be targeted, criminalized, abused and viciously oppressed. Reports emerged today of Chinese paramilitary on the streets of Dza Wonpo, a town in occupied Tibet’s Kham region during  late 2019. That the information has surfaced now is due to the  complete lock-down forced upon Tibetans, daily activities are constantly monitored and recorded, informers are ever present, while the internet is under 24/7 surveillance by the Chinese authorities.

Under such circumstances it is remarkable that these images and report has been made available, due entirely to very courageous Tibetans from inside Tibet. From their information over thirty Tibetans were arrested and held between November 21 and December 12 2019, with a further eight people detained. Their ‘crimes’ it appears were being suspected of using the internet to contact exiled Tibetans, and possessing images of the Dalai Lama.

The response from the Chinese regime was typical, dispatching a massive convoy of ‘security’ vehicle and flooding the town with paramilitary troops. Such is the reality for Tibetans existing under the illegal and brutal rule of China.

Tibetans Have Nothing To Celebrate As 2020 Ushers In More Oppression For Tibet

Well we made it, 2020  has arrived and around the world much celebration for a better year, unless you were a Tibetan suffering under the relentless misery and oppression of Chinese rule. In Lhasa and across occupied Tibet there were no parties, music concerts or dancing, only the sound of paramilitary patrols stomping along the sidewalk.

While the highlight show for the evening was a speech from Xi Jinping extolling the virtues of patriotism and loyalty to the Chinese communist party and its ambitions for the so-called Motherland.

For any Tibetan who dared go outside they would be confronted by the countless armed patrols ensuring what the Chinese authorities call ‘social harmony’

In Lhasa and other Tibetan towns high-tech security systems are being implemented, including facial recognition cameras and bio-metric barriers to control and identify each and every Tibetan. There is no aspect of life inside Tibet which is free from surveillance and Chinese regime oppression.

The Big-Brother Command Center Which Coordinates Tyranny Over Tibet

Image: @tibettruth

Having placed Tibet under a suffocating military occupation since invading in 1950, with every village and town swarming with Chinese paramilitary, China’s regime has more recently completed its totalitarian grip on the Tibetan people through the implementation of CCTV surveillance, bio-metric identity cards and facial recognition systems. This high-tech tyranny has been rolled out across occupied Tibet ensuring instant monitoring and assessment of almost every aspect of daily activity, Tibetans are existing under a digital terrorism. One that has the objective of eradicating Tibetan national and cultural identity.

The Big-Brother Command Center Which Coordinates Tyranny Over Tibet

The Chinese regime is central to the administration, funding and expansion of this oppressive and intrusive system. To ensure ideological compliance and coordination of its cultural genocide against Tibetans it has launched a ‘Big Brother’ command center that links to operation rooms in various regions of Tibet. Titled the ‘National Security Command of the Tibet Autonomous Region (sic)’ this week it held an online conference session to “Fully promote the implementation of various stability maintenance measures in place, resolutely win and complete the “final war” of stability maintenance at the end of the year”.  The latest dictates issued to its communist party zealots for implementation against the Tibetan people.
