Reports emerging that a Tibetan has today self-immolated in protest at China’s illegal and violent occupation of Tibethe man has been named as Tsering Tashi aged 31 who died following his action, which occured in Samtsa Village in Luchu area of Amdo Region of Eastern Tibet.

These actions are not a desperation or suicidal anguish but resolute political protests to assert Tibetan independence, while individuals may have differeing reactions to self-immlations we should at least respect the right of Tibetans to determine the nature and course of their struggle.
