Across the support and exposure shown to those suffering under Chinese occupation much focus is given to Tibet and East Turkistan. Understandable reasons for that, not least the standing of, and respect accorded to, the Dalai Lama, assisted with a recognizable global profile and media reportage (although that’s often inaccurate and debased with Chinese propaganda).

Less exposure is given to two other lands annexed by China’s aggressive expansionism. These are Southern Mongolia and Manchuria whose people, like Tibetans and Uyghurs, have been subject to policies of cultural genocide and assimilation. The object of which is to eradicate entirely any sense of Mongolian and Manchu cultural and national identity.

Both these countries have been ruthlessly exploited for their natural resources, swamped by mass-colonization, and transformed into open prisons. Manchu and Mongolian children denied their language, forced to learn Chinese, indoctrinated daily with the political dogma of China’s communist party. The degree of Sinicization in occupied Manchuria has resulted in the Manchu language being on the edge-of-extinction. As in Tibet and East Turkistan women have been targeted by mass-sterilization programs, dangerously impacting upon the indigenous population, while opening the gates to an unending river of Chinese ‘settlers’.
The people of Southern Mongolia and Manchuria are being violently denied their right to national freedom by Chinese military occupation and a program of cultural extermination.
