We are deeply saddened to note the passing in Dharamsala, Northern India, of Mr Lhasang Tsering, a Tibetan who decated his life to the national independence of Tibet. He was a highly intelligent, articulate, and passionate advocate for the national liberation of Tibet and its people. No matter the various political shifts, or fashionable currents-of -thinking on the cause of Tibet, he never wavered.
A remarkable man who served his country with a tireless activism and determination to ensure the Tibetan people one day realize their common political aspiration of freedom from Chinese occupation and tyranny.
In this sense he represented, with intelligence, integrity and courage, the collective dream of Tibet’s people, speaking out in truth, without fear or favour, the facts on Tibet, its history and the right of its people to be liberated from Chinese oppression, and to enjoy national freedom and the expression of Tibetan culture.
Activist, poet, resistance fighter and author he will be sorely missed, yet his legacy lives on in the heart of Tibetans that one day the just and historic independence of Tibet will be restored.
We wish his reincarnation to be positive, harmonious and extend to his family and friends our sincere condolences
